Dec. 28, 2008 -- The U.S. Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program received a sizable donation from Lagina Plumbing, helping the program provide toys for needy children at Christmastime.

BizTimes 'Bubbler" Notes Lagina Plumbing Support for Faith Motorsports

Dec. 26, 2008 -- Lagina Plumbing's support for race car driver Morgan Shepherd and his Faith Motorsports was highlighted in The Bubbler, a weekly e-mail newsletter produced by BizTimes Milwaukee, and also was published in the magazine's Dec. 19 print edition.

New Commerce State Bank Headquarters Opens Jan. 20

Dec. 2, 2008 -- Lagina Plumbing is helping WB Construction in development of a 33,000-square-foot, three-story office building in West Bend for Commerce State Bank. The bank anticipates moving into the new headquarters on Jan. 20, 2009. The building will include high-end office space for tenants.

Lagina Plumbing Helps Create Brain Scan Suite at Froedtert

Nov. 14, 2008 -- A new suite to house sophisticated brain mapping technology has been created at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa, with Lagina Plumbing of Milwaukee assisting in the construction process.

Lagina Helping in Development of Jackson Square Apartments

Nov. 10, 2008 – A new five-story executive apartment building in Milwaukee’s Third Ward is being developed with Lagina Plumbing Co. handling the plumbing systems.
Developer Robert Joseph is putting up the Jackson Square Apartments at the corner of Menomonee and Jackson streets.

Oct. 31, 2008 -- Lagina Plumbing president Jim Lagina is featured in the Oct. 31 issue of Small Business Times in the paper's "Just a Minute" section that profiles southeastern Wisconsin business leaders.

Lagina Sponsoring No. 89 in Oct. 25 Nationwide Race in Memphis

Oct. 20, 2008 -- Never mind about Joe the Plumber and the race between Barack Obama and John McCain. The real race will be this coming Saturday, Oct. 25, when Morgan Shepherd takes to the Memphis Motor sports track in the “Kroger On Track for The Cure 250” NASCAR Nationwide Series race, with Lagina Plumbing of Milwaukee again backing Shepherd’s team.

Lagina Plumbing Does Its Part for Hurricane Relief

Oct. 15, 2008 -- Disaster relief crews in Florida and Texas have been keeping themselves clean thanks in part to fast-track plumbing work provided by Lagina Plumbing of Milwaukee. The Lagina team built and installed shower systems for 17 trailers used by utility and other assistance personnel helping out in the aftermath of hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

Lagina Providing Plumbing for New Children's Hospital Clinic

Oct. 1, 2008 -- A new 74,000-square-foot medical clinic is being built for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, with plumbing work being handled by Lagina Plumbing of Milwaukee. The new facility will be named Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Clinics – New Berlin and will be the first clinic at the 35-acre medical office park along Beloit Road near the Moorland Road intersection.

Lagina Plumbing Helps Washington County Create CBRF

Sept. 16, 2008 – The first floor of the Samaritan Health Care Center in West Bend is being converted into a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF), with plumbing work handled by Lagina Plumbing of Milwaukee.

Lagina Plumbing is Part of New Development in Franklin

Sept. 9, 2008 – Lagina Plumbing is providing interior plumbing for a new 56,760-square-foot commercial building in the Franklin Business Park in southern Milwaukee County.

Aug. 26, 2008 -- Great Lakes Distillery of Milwaukee will be able to expand production of its premium spirits and expand its product line through a building upgrade that includes commercial plumbing work by Lagina Plumbing.

Aug. 15, 2008 -- Lagina Plumbing is providing commercial plumbing services for the new Educators Credit Union branchbeing built by Bukaceck Construction on Milwaukee’s east side. Jim Lagina Named to Apprenticeship Committee

Sept. 13, 2007 -- Lagina Plumbing owner Jim Lagina will continue his service to the profession through membership on the Milwaukeee Area Joint Apprenticeship Committee. The appointment comes as Lagina's two-year role as president of the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association comes to an end.

Mayfair Woods Contractor Taps Lagina Plumbing for Build-Out

Sept. 13, 2007 -- Lagina Plumbing is providing plumbing for tenant suite build-out of the five-level, 165,000-square-foot Mayfair Woods Business & Technology Center at the Milwaukee County Research Park in Wauwatosa. It's one of three projects Lagina is handling within a one-block area of the research park, each with a different general contractor.

Lagina Plumbing Helping Build 'Smart' Car Dealership

Sept. 10, 2007 -- The first Smart car dealership in Wisconsin, and one of the first in the nation, is being built in Milwaukee with Lagina Plumbing as the commercial plumbing contractor. The dealership's desire to have cars rolling out of the lot by Jan. 1 is being supported by Lagina Plumbing's skillful permitting ability and its in-house prefabrication shop, which allows it to create plumbing systems in a controlled, efficient setting, thus speeding up installation.

Lagina Plumbing named to Wisconsin BUILDER's A List -- again!

September 2007 -- In its newest listing of the top companies in southeastern Wisconsin's construction industry, the Wisconsin BUILDER ranked Lagina Plumbing 11th in the subcontractors category for work done in 2006. It was the highest ranking for any plumbing company. It was the third time Lagina Plumbing made the prestigious list, which is published annually as a supplement to the Daily Reporter.

Panasonic reps discuss latest in cordless tools with Lagina Plumbing

July 24, 2007 -- Representatives of Panasonic Corp. recently visited Lagina Plumbing in Milwaukee to discuss the next generation of batteries for cordless power tools. Lagina Plumbing was among a group of Midwest plumbing, heating and electrical contractors selected by the electronics company, which was seeking input on how contractors use cordless power tools and how cobalt lithium ion batteries could improve jobsite efficiency.

Business owners are racecar owners, drivers, too

July 20, 2007 -- Involvement in racecar driving is one of the most cost-effective ways to market to customers and to reach more people at the grassroots level, according to Lagina Plumbing owner Jim Lagina, who is co-owner of Loch-Lagina Motorsports. Lagina Plumbing Reduces Worker's Comp Costs

March 30, 2007 -- In 2006, a Milwaukee-based plumbing company was able to reduce its worker's compensation insurance rate by 13 percent, even though the state raised the base rate by 17 percent. Jim Lagina, owner of Lagina Plumbing Inc., purchased Louis Schmitt Plumbing from his boss on Jan. 1 and renamed the business. Founded in 1895 as Louis Schmitt Plumbing, the company was purchased in late 2006 by Jim Lagina, a 30-year veteran of the plumbing industry, and is now known as Lagina Plumbing.
