Lagina Plumbing Helping Great Lakes Distillery Expand
Aug. 26 , 2008 -- Great Lakes Distillery will be able to expand production of its premium spirits and expand its product line through a building upgrade that includes commercial plumbing work by Lagina Plumbing.
The distillery earlier this year moved to The Tannery business park in the Walker’s Point area of Milwaukee where it is leasing 9,500 square feet of space. Great Lakes, Milwaukee’s only distillery, had been in 3,500 square feet of space on Holton Avenue in the Riverwest neighborhood. It was founded there in 2006.
The Walker’s Point location will accommodate continued growth of the company’s product lines and will allow it to offer tours and create a visitors center.
Great Lakes Distillery, founded by Guy Rehorst, is acting as the general contractor on the project, which is expected to be completed in November.
The distillery currently makes Rehorst Premium Milwaukee Vodka, Rehorst Premium Milwaukee Gin, and Rehorst Premium Milwaukee Citrus & Honey Vodka.
“It’s great to help a local company expand its operations,” said Jim Lagina, president of Lagina Plumbing. “We’re glad to have the opportunity to develop a relationship this company that is drawing national attention for its award-winning products. Great Lakes Distillery has great people and great products – a winning combination.”
