Lagina Teams with Bukaceck for new Educators Credit Union
August 15, 2008 -- Lagina Plumbing is providing commercial plumbing services for the new Educators Credit Union branch on Milwaukee’s east side. The branch is being built at 2243 N. Prospect Ave., near the intersection of North Avenue.
Lagina Plumbing will handle complete interior and exterior plumbing systems for the three-story building, including all necessary piping to serve the rooftop “green” garden.
Bukacek Construction of Racine is the general contractor for the project. Construction begins in September.
“The building will be a terrific fit to that popular east side commercial district,” said Jim Lagina, president of Lagina Plumbing. “Educators Credit Union clearly has a good vision of how to best develop this urban corner in a manner that fits the neighborhood. We’re happy to be working with Bukacek Construction, a terrific company, on this development.”
The building will replace an existing structure that served as a clinic for Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital. The branch will replace a walk-in facility that had been in the clinic.
Construction of the 11,117-square-foot building is expected to be done by September 2009.
Genesis Architecture of Racine designed the building in a contemporary, Frank Lloyd Wright style.
Educators Credit Union is based in Racine and has 18 other branches.
