Lagina Plumbing Helps Washington County Create CBRF

Sept. 16, 2008 – The first floor of the Samaritan Health Care Center in West Bend is being converted into a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF), with plumbing work handled by Lagina Plumbing of Milwaukee.

“The remodeling of this facility presents many challenges for our field team,” said Jim Lagina, president of the commercial plumbing company. “It is taking ingenious thinking to deal with the concrete structure and all the mechanical systems that are being improved. But as our experience with many other challenging projects has taught us, creativity and teamwork with all contractors on the job will make it a success.”

Along with conversion of the first floor to a CBRF, modifications will be made to all units, adding new private restrooms and updating the entire facility.

The CBRF will have 14 Frail Elderly units and 17 Memory Care units.

Constuction Management Associates is the general contractor and is anticipating project completion by spring or summer of 2009.

Washington County owns the facility, which has a total of 320,000 square feet of space on four floors. There are 176 beds for residents needing skilled and Medicare-certified care.
