Lagina Plumbing Helping Prep Space
for Relocation of Harley's -- The Store for Men
Sept. 1 , 2009 -- A renovated mixed-use building near the Shorewood-Milwaukee border will be the new location of Harley’s -- the Store for Men, a longtime area men’s clothing retailer.
The store will open in its new location at 3565 N. Oakland Ave. on Sept. 16, after closing its 4009 N. Oakland Ave. location on Sept. 12.
Lagina Plumbing of Milwaukee is assisting in renovation of the 3565 N. Oakland location to accommodate Harley’s. The building’s owner is undertaking a $1.2 million renovation of the structure -- the Lakewood Building, which includes residences and commercial space. DC Limited is the general contractor.
“We have completed numerous projects with Steve at DC Limited, and we are happy to assist with the plumbing needs for this unique relocation,” said Jim Lagina, president of the commercial plumbing company. “We are always glad to work with repeat customers like DC Limited and Steve on projects like this. With a history of working together, we can more confidently meet tight schedules and budgets on these kinds of projects.”
The store will occupy 5,333 square feet of space.
Harley’s was founded in 1948 and has long been in the heart of the Shorewood commercial district at Oakland Avenue and Capitol Drive. The new location is to the south, near Oakland’s intersection with Menlo Boulevard.
“Harley’s is a mainstay of the Milwaukee-area retail scene,” Lagina said. “It’s great to see them still in business after to many years, and great to see them investing to support many more years of business.”
